Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a major crackdown on the drug trade, the State Special Task Force (STF) conducted a raid at the residence of a suspected drug dealer in Baruipur today. The raid resulted in the recovery of approximately 100 grams of heroin from inside the house. The accused, identified as Michael Sur, was taken into custody by the authorities.
The search operation lasted for nearly three and a half hours, during which STF personnel meticulously combed through the premises. A significant quantity of heroin was found hidden inside the house, indicating an active involvement in the illegal narcotics trade. Officials have confirmed that the seized drugs are of high quality and intended for distribution.
To ensure a smooth operation and prevent any external interference, a large contingent of security forces was deployed outside Michael Sur’s house. Local law enforcement assisted the STF in maintaining security and monitoring the situation. The authorities suspect that Michael Sur might have connections with a larger drug network operating in the region.
Following the arrest, Michael Sur was taken for questioning to determine the source of the contraband and other individuals involved in the supply chain. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused had been under STF surveillance for a considerable period before today's raid was executed.
The seized heroin has been sent for forensic testing to ascertain its purity and estimated market value. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are intensifying their probe to track down other associates of Michael Sur. The STF has assured that further raids will be conducted based on the leads obtained from this operation.
